Usha Bilotta

Usha Bilotta is impassioned by yoga and the ways it connects to life off of the mat. She began practicing in 1999 in the Ashtanga tradition. She was immediately in love with the practice of yoga as it began to transform life on physical and emotional levels. She has studied many styles over the years, learning from various traditions such as Kripalu, Bikram, and the Mysore method, but found her home in the authenticity of the living, breathing, ever-changing flow of Vinyasa. She completed her 200-hour teacher training through Tom Gilette at Eyes of the World in 2008 and her 500-hour training with Theresa Murphy in 2016.

Usha's classes focus on linking breath to body, mindful alignment, strengthening, and deepening awareness of the Self. Her classes are heartfelt and the pace flows with intention, slow motion, and intensity. She is committed to helping her students cultivate a practice that is authentic and powerful while challenging them to find the lessons that asana presents. She embraces ancient yogic scriptures and teachings and uses these principles to guide through class, allowing for evolution both on and off of the mat. Usha has been working with holistic nutrition and healthy living since 2000.

  • Heated Vinyasa Flow I

  • This is one of our Flow classes.

This introductory Vinyasa Flow class moves at a gentle pace to establish strength, flexibility, and balance within a continuous sequence of postures. Vinyasa Flow I is designed for newer and intermediate students looking to hone in on proper alignment while honoring and exploring the connection between movement, breath and mindfulness—the fundamental building blocks of Vinyasa.

This class is done in a heated room. The heat encourages greater flexibility and detoxification. Yoga experience is necessary and students are asked to bring a towel, mat and water.

  • Heated Vinyasa Flow II

  • This is one of our Flow classes.

This quiet class, with minimal verbal cues, offers the space to go inward. It's an opportunity to let your breath be the sound track of your yoga. Each pose will be offered with time to experience the shape in your own body. Individual guidance and attention will be given as needed. This quiet practice is intended to help you to be more present and to move meditatively through the poses, deepening your yoga. Some yoga experience is needed, but you're not required to know every pose.

  • Community Chanting

  • Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion is often described as “love for love’s sake”. It is often practiced via kirtan or mantra; chants using ancient Sanskrit sounds. This powerful ritual raises the vibrations of its practitioners, allowing full presence in the current moment.

Chants are frequently done in call and response format. You don’t have to have a “singing voice” or any experience at all! Handouts with written chants will be available to make following along easy.

Join Usha one Friday per month for this beautiful opportunity to welcome in mindfulness, positivity, connection and community.
