What attracted you to yoga?  Why did you start?
My mom passed away quite suddenly on January 4, 2014.   In March,  a friend suggested that I try yoga as a way to help me deal with the insomnia and severe anxiety that I was experiencing.
 
What is your favorite type/style of yoga and why?
Vinyasa-  I enjoy the series of movements, and maintaining the flow of poses in combination with the breath continues to be a challenge for me.
 
What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
When I begin a session at home, I always start with Mountain pose.  This pose  helps me to connect with my breath, increase awareness and openness of my body, and feel centered.
 
What keeps you doing yoga?
Yoga has helped me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  I love how I feel– Yoga is nourishment for my body and soul!!
 
What other activities do you enjoy?
Spending time with my granddaughter, reading, hiking, traveling.
 
An inspiring book or movie you recommend?
The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer
 
Favorite food?
Roasted brussel sprouts
 
Favorite place to be and why?
Hiking in the white Mountains of New Hampshire– I love being outside and exploring nature; this is an incredibly beautiful area and it’s only a few hours away.
 
What do you like most about All That Matters?
The wonderful instructors and friendly staff members; the comfortable, caring atmosphere; the variety of classes and workshop offerings.
 
Advice to beginners?
Try many different classes and instructors.  Explore and have fun!
 
Any other words of wisdom?
Words of wisdom that I hold in my heart… “Honor the teacher within”.
