What attracted you to yoga? Why did you start?

A kayaking coach told me to "put down the weights and go to yoga." I've been at All That Matters ever since.

What is your favorite type or style and why?
I enjoy Vinyasa for the flow as well as the slower longer holds of Iyengar type practices, such as Purna.

What is your favorite yoga pose and why?

Tadasana, or Mountain Pose, is my favorite. I can really feel the grounding, power, and energy flow in my body.  I really like Virabhadrasana II, or Warrior 2, for the same reason.

What keeps you practicing yoga?
Yoga allows me to be a better and more resilient version of myself.

What other activities do you enjoy?
I spend a lot of time on the water leading sea kayaking trips for the RI Canoe and Kayaking Association. You will also find me walking my dog, Trevor, around the neighborhood or working in my yard.

An inspiring book or movie you recommend?
Check out the recordings of "Satsang and Mooji" on YouTube..

Favorite food?
Any type of curry.

Favorite place to be and why?
I enjoy being on the water because it helps me to be truly present in the moment.

Any advice to beginners?
Come to class a few times a week.  Work it into your life so that it fits.  Then when you come to class "play your own game."  Work on the basic kramas and try to find a meditative quality to your practice.  Only move up in a krama when you are not physically maxed out and it suits you.

What do you like most about All That Matters?
I come to All That Matters for the sense of community.  Also, nothing beats the added energy of practicing with other yogis in a great class.
