Meet Erika Lucas, Our New Reflexologist!

We’re welcoming a friendly face to our reflexology team! Erika Lucas, who many of you know as our resident Yoga Advisor, is now offering reflexology at All That Matters SK. In between daydreams about a relaxing foot massage, we caught up with Erika to learn more about what inspired her to become a reflexologist and what to expect during a session with her. Put your feet up and get to know our newest reflexologist!

1.     Why did you decide to become a reflexologist?

When I received my first reflexology treatment, at All That Matters, I was in heaven the entire time and felt so deeply relaxed—a depth I’ve never reached while receiving a massage or other therapeutic modality. After that session, I knew I had to learn how this healing art could make people feel so at peace and share it with others.

2.     What do you love most about reflexology?

I love that reflexology aims to treat the body, mind and soul. Rarely do our “problems” exist on just one plane and receiving reflexology can be a way to tap into these facets simultaneously to call a client’s intuitive healing into action.

3.     As a reflexologist, how would you describe your treatment style?

My treatment style is relaxing, yet focused. No treatment is the same, as each session is altered to fit the needs of the client at that time.

4.     What should someone new to reflexology expect during a session with you?

The session begins with a foot bath or warm compress and proceeds onto a cushioned massage table where the client remains fully clothed. A client can expect to feel focused attention on specific points and regions (reflexes) on the feet and lower leg in addition to relaxing and soothing touch throughout the session. Warm socks are used when a foot is not being worked on, as the session alternates between one foot at a time and both feet simultaneously.

5.     We have to know, what are three things you just can’t live without?
  • Chocolate
  • Books
  • Yoga/Dance/Movement

Erika's completion of our 300-hour Integrative Reflexology Certification with Elysia Bates lead to her become a member of the Reflexology Association of RI (RARI) and Reflexology Association of America (RAA), and a highly skilled practitioner. An energetic individual with a true passion for assisting others, Erika’s reflexology certification follows training as a Reiki practitioner, E-200RYT yoga teacher, licensed Zumba Fitness instructor, and a certification in hypnotherapy.
