What attracted you to yoga? Why did you start?
Twenty years of ballet taught me focus and discipline, but it was very hard on the body and mind. I began yoga to continue body work, but in a kinder way, and with a non-competitive focus.
What is your favorite type or style of yoga and why?
Depending on how I am feeling, I enjoy a more vigorous Vinyasa practice or Hatha when I need a more Restorative practice.
What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
Difficult question…maybe child’s pose, because it brings me straight back to myself and is so restorative!
What keeps you doing yoga?
Yoga is a key part of my inner work and process.
What do you like most about All That Matters?
I am greeted with care and kindness. The teachers are excellent. The classes are varied.
If you could give beginners one piece of advice, what would it be?
Stay with it…keep coming back to yourself, no matter how many times you leave (which are infinite). Breathe!
Any other words of wisdom?
In each moment, I choose. I am responsible for my choices. I am compassionate to self and others. Compassion is primary, next comes truth.
What other activities do you enjoy?
Painting (art), gardening, biking, reading, learning almost anything NEW!
An inspiring book or movie you would recommend?
Good soup with real cornbread!
Favorite place to be and why?
My favorite place to be is on my bike or on my mat, in freedom.
