This enrollment runs from Sun Feb 14, 2016 - Sun Feb 14, 2016

Join Stephanie Marisca for this deep sound relaxation. Experience the vibrational healing of the bronze gong and Tibetan singing bowls.

You will lie down or sit comfortably and begin with mindful relaxed breathing holding a personal or group intention. Then, the gong playing begins. At first you hear soft gong sounds and as you listen carefully, you become aware of the many tones within one sound. The sounds become louder and louder, and wash over and around you creating waves of sound that carry you into the past, the future, and even to other worlds. Many people experience something noticeable during a meditative Gong Bath; it can range from feeling their bodies twitch (as the energy meridians are cleared and balanced), seeing amazing splashes of color behind their closed eyes, past life recollections in full detail, a feeling of lifting out of their bodies and watching from above, to simply a feeling of total peace and connectedness. Whatever your experience, it will be the perfect experience unique to you.

Join us for this monthly sound meditation circle, and leave feeling rested, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, or any other padding to make yourself comfortable.

The Electric Body: Meridian Yoga Theory and Practice with Katherine Conte at South Kingstown Next held on Sat, Feb 27, 2016 at 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
This enrollment runs from Sat Feb 27, 2016 - Sat Feb 27, 2016

Electromagnetic energy – traditionally called prana, chi, ki, lifeforce – imbues the entire body and essentially animates each of us and all of life. Based on Taoist principle, this lifeforce travels in 14 distinct patterns, known as meridians. Altogether the meridian lines form one flowing, continuous circuit that brings lifeforce to every cell in the body. Meridian Yoga is a system for identifying and directing this energy for health and vitality.

During the first half of the day, learn the wider view - or philosophy - from which the meridian system developed, including the principles of Yin Yang and Five Element Theory.  From this study, create a map that organizes the meridians according to season, organ pairs, and personal conditions.

For the second half, take an in-depth exploration of each meridian line and its organ pair as you experience the asana (yoga pose) and acupressure points specific to each meridian. Discover how each meridian’s role can assist you in organizing your health and wellbeing and “symptoms” of imbalance.

All That Matters 500-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training with Coral Brown and Guest Faculty with Coral Brown at East Greenwich Next held on Fri, Mar 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Mar 11, 2016 - Fri Mar 11, 2016

For the last twenty years, All That Matters has been fulfilling its mission statement to educate, inspire, and support the community to continually grow towards and maintain optimal health and well-being. The All That Matters School of Yoga extends the reach of this mission by training confident, skillful, and compassionate teachers. Our 500-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training, a 12-month certification program, is an exciting new offering in partnership with Coral Brown, international Prana Vinyasa yoga teacher trainer and Yoga Journal contributor.

A teacher of teachers, Coral is known for her integrative yet lighthearted approach that fuses the energetic, creative energy of vinyasa yoga with her experience as a holistic counselor. Together with the esteemed All That Matters School of Yoga faculty, including Devarshi Steven Hartman, David Dwyer, Lynn Goodwin, Kendall Sheldon, Amanda Pretto, Linda Sparrowe, Joan Dwyer and Jenn Thomas, Coral will guide participants on an introspective journey, inviting them to unite mind, body and spirit to transcend physical asana and create space for conscious evolution. This unique collaboration of dedicated, experienced teachers honors the depth and breadth of yoga and respectfully recognizes that the art of living yoga is a lifetime pursuit.

Comprised of twelve 22.5-hour weekend intensives, this integrative, advanced level education offers yoga teachers the opportunity to immerse in the study, practice, and transformation of vinyasa yoga. The literal translation of the term vinyasa is “to place in a special way” and the conceptual definition of vinyasa revolves around a multi-faceted approach to mindfulness through development of the skills of observation and inquiry. From these definitions, we distill the essence of vinyasa and the foundation of the program: to meet each individual where they are, without judgment, and to cultivate a more embodied sense of self, purpose, and how to use the tools of yoga in a skillful, efficient and effective way. This program is designed for students of all lineages who are seeking more depth, skill, inspiration, and clarity in their practice and teaching.

This training systematically examines and explores the art and science of yoga and its multi-disciplinary traditions through lecture, discussion, group teaching and group practice. Students experience and integrate the wisdom of asana, pranayama, meditation, mythology, philosophy, ayurveda, chakras, anatomy, and the psychology of yoga. Throughout the training process, posture clinics provide students the opportunity to deepen their practice and teaching skills through exploring advanced postures and their modifications, as well as integrating the postures through hands on assists and adjusting. Each weekend students work in groups and as a whole to craft intelligently creative sequences. The culmination of this process is the confidence, skills, insight, and personal evolution necessary for teachers to create and facilitate meaningful, healing, and fortifying yoga classes.

This program is open to students who have completed a 200-hour program or equivalent. Upon successful completion students that are registered yoga teachers at the 200 hour level will be qualified to register with Yoga Alliance as a 500-hour registered yoga teacher.

Monthly Gong Bath with Stephanie Marisca at South Kingstown Next held on Fri, Mar 18, 2016 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Mar 18, 2016 - Fri Mar 18, 2016

Join Stephanie Marisca, Cathy Cesario and visiting artists for this deep sound relaxation.

Some participants like to bring an extra yoga mat, blanket, or padding to supplement ATM mats and blankets.

The Way of the Shaman: Shamanic Journeying, Power, and Healing with Nan Moss at South Kingstown Next held on Sat, Apr 16, 2016 at 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Sat Apr 16, 2016 - Sun Apr 17, 2016

During this experiential workshop, participants are introduced to core shamanism – the universal and near-universal basic methods of the shaman to enter non-ordinary reality for problem solving, wellbeing, and healing. Particular emphasis is put on the classic shamanic journey, one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream.

Participants are initiated into shamanic journeying, aided by drumming and movement techniques for experiencing the shamanic state of consciousness and for awakening dormant spiritual abilities and connections with Nature. Practice includes comparisons by participants of their discoveries in shamanic journeys as well as work on personal problem solving. They are also provided with methods for journeying to discover and study with their own individual spiritual teachers in non-ordinary reality, a classic step in shamanic practice. Participants learn how the journey is utilized to restore spiritual power and health, and how shamanism can be applied in contemporary daily life to help heal oneself, others, and the Planet.

Note: Please bring a rattle or a drum if you have one. Wear comfortable clothing, warm socks, and bring a bandanna, a rough-surfaced rock approximately the size of a grapefruit, and a pen and notebook to record your journeys.

Originated by Michael Harner, this is the basic workshop of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and is the prerequisite for all Foundation workshops and training courses.

Click here to enjoy an article on shamanism written by Nan Moss and David Corbin.

What participants have said about this workshop:
“The class was well organized and full of helpful techniques.  Powerful tools were presented in a way that was inspiring to a beginner.”

“Very informative and great practice of foundational skills. A good introduction to Shamanism.”

“These techniques are helpful to anyone interested in spirituality, health, or work in professions related to those fields.”

This enrollment runs from Sun Jun 5, 2016 - Sun Jun 5, 2016

Inspired by her lifelong love of animals, Myra is excited to offer this program designed for people who would like to share the healing gift of Reiki with animals! Monthly Gong Bath with Stephanie Marisca at South Kingstown Next held on Fri, Jun 24, 2016 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Jun 24, 2016 - Fri Jun 24, 2016

Join Stephanie Marisca, Cathy Cesario and visiting artists for this deep sound relaxation.

Some participants like to bring an extra yoga mat, blanket, or padding to supplement ATM mats and blankets.

Integrative Reflexology Certification Program with Elysia Bates at South Kingstown Next held on Fri, Sep 23, 2016 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Sep 23, 2016 - Sun Sep 25, 2016

Starts Sep 2016!

Reflexology is a vibrant and growing healing modality within the field of bodywork. A centuries-old form of natural healing, foot reflexology utilizes a variety of hands-on techniques to stimulate and energize all the body systems while activating its healing powers. Every part of the body is connected to a reflex on the foot. By stimulating these reflex points we can help the body promote healing, reduce stress, open meridians, and release and eliminate toxins from the body. An excellent antidote to stress-related conditions, reflexology relaxes the body, restores balance, and serves as preventative medicine.

This 300-hour professional certification in the art, history, science, philosophy, and methodology of reflexology is based on a 10-week training, with anatomy and physiology in the morning session and hands-on training in the afternoon session.

The curriculum includes:
• fundamental anatomy and physiology
• theory, practice, hands-on experience, and documentation
• standards and ethics
• boundaries and energy exchange
• approaches to different types of clients, e.g., Hospice vs back-pain client
• anatomy/kinesiology of the leg and foot
• practice giving both full 60-minute treatments and 15-min introductory session for health fairs, public events, and sampling
• business and marketing

All That Matters' 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Devarshi Steven Hartman of the Pranotthan Yoga School and Kendall Sheldon of All That Matters with Devarshi Steven Hartman at South Kingstown Next held on Wed, Nov 9, 2016 at 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
This enrollment runs from Wed Nov 9, 2016 - Wed Nov 9, 2016

Starts Nov 2016!
Step into living your fullest potential and inspire others to do the same.

Has yoga made a difference in your life? Would you like to share the gifts you have received from your practice with others? Or are you drawn to simply go deeper into cultivating presence and awareness in all that you do?

All That Matters is proud to offer this comprehensive, inspired, and transformational yoga teacher training with senior teacher Devarshi Steven Hartman, E-RYT, who has been leading transformational yoga programs for over 30 years, along with stellar guest teachers including Grace Jull and our own Kendall Sheldon. A passage of self-awakening in the fundamentals of yoga, this program is designed to deepen and clarify your experience and knowledge of yoga while you train to become a confident, skillful, and compassionate teacher.

Pranotthan (pronounced prana-tan) means the awakening of prana and its intuitive intelligence. Compatible with all other styles and traditions of yoga, Pranotthan Yoga is rooted in the ancient Vedantic philosophy and practices of yoga, and the teachings of Swami Kripalu, whose life exemplified the path of love and compassion. Immerse yourself fully in the yogic tools of asana, pranayama, meditation, non-judgmental witness consciousness, and communion with source – and yoga will awaken within you, just as the scriptures describe. You will long to share your own experience of yoga practice with others through your new and ever-evolving teaching skills and methods.

In this training you learn how to bring awareness to movement and breath (yoga) in a way that is right for your body, your limitations, your strengths, your age, – in other words, you discover the yoga that is right for you. Yoga is for everybody, not just the young and flexible. There are students waiting for you to teach what enlivens you. Learn how to bring the experience, depth, and benefits of yoga to your students in an inspiring, creative, safe format.
