Reiki ("ray-key") is an ancient system of natural healing. In Japanese, Reiki means Universal Life Energy, and this system is used to transmit energy through the hands. Gentle and non-invasive, Reiki is a simple, natural means to relieve stress and promote balance, harmony and wellness. We have been offering Reiki trainings and private Reiki sessions here at All That Matters since 1995. These workshops are an invaluable foundation for self-transformation, healing, and for anyone developing a healing practice. First Degree introduces you to hands-on-healing, the history of Reiki, and the energy centers of the body. Learn how to give a Reiki treatment to yourself, others, and your animal friends.

For more information on Reiki, consider coming to one of our free talks, What is Reiki?

Reiki Master Training with Myra Partyka is also available. Interested students are welcome to contact her at myraseven@verizon.net or visit her website at www.reikiriworks.com

Sit. Breathe. Pray: A Meditation Experience for Everyone with Devarshi Steven Hartman Next held on Thu, Mar 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm
This enrollment runs from Thu Mar 12, 2015 - Thu Mar 12, 2015

“All yoga practices are designed to lead one to an experience of being infinite, eternal, and whole. An EXPERIENCE of being infinite, eternal and whole is beyond the belief that you are infinite, eternal, and whole. The mind cannot get there, so at some point you must leap off the mind experience into another realm” – Devarshi Steven Hartman. Excerpt from The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita.

Being in charge of our attention is not as hard as we have made it, as boring as we have imagined, or as complicated as we’ve been told. It is natural. It waits for us to rest in it. This ability to truly be present, to experience the outrageous moment fully, to become and behold, is at the heart of ALL yoga practice and your own state of union/yoga. Join senior teacher Devarshi Steven Hartman, E-RYT, Co-Founder of Pranotthan Yoga School to explore and experience various forms of meditation and presence. Walk away with simple practices that light your path to stillness, restoration and focus.

This class is filmed and featured on the YogaVibes website. Students have the option not to appear on camera.

This enrollment runs from Fri Mar 20, 2015 - Fri Mar 20, 2015

The sounds become louder and louder, and wash over and around you creating waves of sound that carry you into the past, the future, and even to other worlds. Many people experience something noticeable during a meditative Gong Bath; it can range from feeling their bodies twitch (as the energy meridians are cleared and balanced), seeing amazing splashes of color behind their closed eyes, past life recollections in full detail, a feeling of lifting out of their bodies and watching from above, to simply a feeling of total peace and connectedness. Whatever your experience, it will be the perfect experience unique to you.

Chakras and Asana: Interpreting the Energy Body with Coral Brown Next held on Sat, Mar 21, 2015 at 9:30 am - 5:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Sat Mar 21, 2015 - Sat Mar 21, 2015

Chakras are energy centers in the body, able to be measured by modern day medical equipment. Ancient yogis define them as wheels of light or vortexes of energy that spin with energy, hold energy and, when blocked, disrupt the flow of energy. Asanas (yoga postures) are a form of body language and each asana has correlating emotional components which, in turn, have correlating chakras. Through lecture, discussions, and asana practice, discover the connection between your energy centers and emotions.

In this workshop, learn:
• each chakras’ behavioral characteristics
• the psychological stages of development of each chakra
• how movement patterns elicit particular emotional responses
• which emotions correspond to which chakras
• how to support others/students who experience emotional release/breakthroughs

Finally, experience all you have learned on your mat as you practice Chakra Namaskar, a Prana Vinyasa Flow® sequence that allows you to explore and steep in specific movement patterns correlating to each chakra. Leave with the ability to observe yourselves, and others, with more compassion and understanding, which can serve as a catalyst toward personal healing and integration.

All welcome. No experience necessary.

A Study of Anatomy, Asana, and Yin Yoga: The Map and The Territory with Theresa Murphy Next held on Sun, Mar 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Sun Mar 29, 2015 - Sun Mar 29, 2015

Yin Yoga is a system of mostly passive, floor-based poses which are held for long periods of time – often for several minutes or more. The prolonged holds in each pose encourage embodiment and deep release in the bones, sinew, muscles, connective tissue, and skin.

Taoism and Oriental Medicine share a system of subtle anatomy correlating to the organ meridians and the five elements which can form the basis for sequencing a yin yoga practice. In this workshop study both the gross and subtle anatomy through Yin Yoga, experiencing how the map of the meridian system informs your experience of embodiment in those organs, the energy of the asanas, and how they affect the territory of your inner landscape.

Benefit from this exploration and leave with a greater compassion, capacity, and curiosity in discovering your body’s full potential.

Open to yoga students and teachers. No experience necessary.

What past participants have said about Theresa Murphy:
"Theresa definitely embodies the practice."

"She is an amazing teacher in all ways."

This workshop is part of the Yin Yoga: 2-weekend Immersion. It is offered during the first weekend, Part l: Foundations, and includes both students from the public and students in the immersion.

This enrollment runs from Fri Apr 17, 2015 - Fri Apr 17, 2015

The sounds become louder and louder, and wash over and around you creating waves of sound that carry you into the past, the future, and even to other worlds. Many people experience something noticeable during a meditative Gong Bath; it can range from feeling their bodies twitch (as the energy meridians are cleared and balanced), seeing amazing splashes of color behind their closed eyes, past life recollections in full detail, a feeling of lifting out of their bodies and watching from above, to simply a feeling of total peace and connectedness. Whatever your experience, it will be the perfect experience unique to you.

Join Stephanie Marisca, Cathy Cesario and visiting artists - for this monthly sound meditation circle, and leave feeling rested, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Through the elimination and reintroduction of common food allergens, you will discover foods that may be interfering with your optimum health. Class time provides the structure, strategy, and support to ensure your success and put you on the right path for a healthier future. Tuition includes printed material, food samplings, and recipes.

This program has helped many people to better achieve their health goals, including:

  • Weight loss
  • Increased energy
  • Enhanced fertility
  • Improved immunity
  • Decreased cholesterol and blood pressure
  • Reduced headaches, heartburn, menopausal symptoms, fibromyalgia, and arthritis pain
  • Improved general health and wellbeing
"At each stage of learning we must give up something, even if it is a way of life that we have always known."-Australian Aboriginal

Note: During this cleanse it is recommended to include supplements, which can be ordered for an optional addition of $89.99. The recommended supplements for Dr. LePore's 21-Day Detox Program include a detoxification formula, a high fiber antioxidant, and bentonite clay. These supplements are designed to supply nutrients that are commonly lacking in chemically overloaded individuals, to assist in the transformation and excretion processes that help rid the body of toxins, and to help protect the body from toxin damage. 40-Day(R)EVOLUTION - May 2015

What participants have said about this workshop:

"The real journey to happiness is the journey inward. Yoga sheds a light by proposing that all the desires and versions that fuel stress are actually substitutes for the real journey to happiness which is the journey inward. From this perspective, all our attempts to find fulfillment out in the world are at best partial because we are looking in the wrong place." -Joseph LePage, Creator of Integrative Yoga Therapy

"40 Days of Yoga came at a perfect time in my life- when I was ready to change old patterns and embark on healthy ones. I had no idea how life changing the whole program would be. The information provided along with your awesome yoga teachers and support staff changed my life. I thought I was going to exercise more and eat better-now I know how to LIVE better."- CD

This enrollment runs from Fri May 29, 2015 - Fri May 29, 2015

Join us for this deep sound relaxation. Experience the vibrational healing of the bronze gong and Tibetan singing bowls.

You will lie down or sit comfortably and begin with mindful relaxed breathing holding a personal or group intention. Then, the gong playing begins. At first you hear soft gong sounds and as you listen carefully, you become aware of the many tones within one sound.

Some participants like to bring an extra yoga mat, blanket, or padding to supplement ATM mats and blankets.

Integrative Reflexology Certification Program with Elysia Bates Next held on Fri, Sep 25, 2015 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Sep 25, 2015 - Fri Sep 25, 2015

Starts Sep 2015!

Reflexology is a vibrant and growing healing modality within the field of bodywork. A centuries-old form of natural healing, foot reflexology utilizes a variety of hands-on techniques to stimulate and energize all the body systems while activating its healing powers. Every part of the body is connected to a reflex on the foot. By stimulating these reflex points we can help the body promote healing, reduce stress, open meridians, and release and eliminate toxins from the body. An excellent antidote to stress-related conditions, reflexology relaxes the body, restores balance, and serves as preventative medicine.

This 300-hour professional certification in the art, history, science, philosophy, and methodology of reflexology is based on a 10-week training, with anatomy and physiology in the morning session and hands-on training in the afternoon session.

The curriculum includes:
• fundamental anatomy and physiology
• theory, practice, hands-on experience, and documentation
• standards and ethics
• boundaries and energy exchange
• approaches to different types of clients, e.g., Hospice vs back-pain client
• anatomy/kinesiology of the leg and foot
• practice giving both full 60-minute treatments and 15-min introductory session for health fairs, public events, and sampling
• business and marketing
