Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Erin Sharaf Next held on Thu, Jul 9, 2015 at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
This enrollment runs from Thu Jul 9, 2015 - Thu Aug 27, 2015

This powerful course - created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the University of Massachusetts Medical School's Stress Reduction Clinic - encourages you to actively participate in your health and wellbeing. Come away with a strong awareness of the interplay between mind and body in health and disease, which is the basis for preventive medicine. With its focus on non-judgmental awareness of our moment-to-moment experience, mindfulness is a natural human capacity that helps access our innate power to heal and to respond more effectively to stress, pain, and illness.

People who complete MBSR training report more effective skills to cope with stress and an increased ability to relax, a lasting decrease in physical and psychological symptoms, reduction in pain, and greater energy. Establish a strong foundation of self-care skills which can be utilized daily and built upon after the workshop ends. This highly participatory, life-affirming course includes instruction in mindfulness meditation practice, gentle stretching/yoga, inquiry exercises to enhance awareness, group dialogue, and daily home assignments. Tuition includes guided mindfulness practices and a digital workbook.

In a safe and supportive environment your will develop and explore:

  • mindfulness/moment-to-moment awareness to reduce stress and improve health and concentration
  • flexibility of body and mind to adapt and choose effective options
  • compassion for self and others
  • equanimity, learning to consciously respond rather that automatically reacting
  • wisdom, clear seeing

People participate in MBSR for many reasons, including:

  • stress (job, financial, family) chronic pain and illness
  • anxiety and panic
  • feeling overwhelmed in this fast-paced society
  • sleep disturbances
  • fatigue
  • headaches
  • high blood pressure
  • to prevent disease and promote wellness

Class meets weekly on Thursdays and includes one day-long retreat: Day of Mindfulness on Sun, Aug 16  from 10am-3pm.

Commit to 7-days of yoga for health and vitality!
Whether you have been practicing yoga or are new to the experience, join this summer challenge supported by our team of experienced and certified yoga instructors.

Studies show that a consistent practice of yoga and meditation builds strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, and coordination. The benefits and joys also permeate into your daily life - deepening the appreciation of the present moment, improving concentration, clarity and self-discipline, and even reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Increase your yoga practice and discover a greater sense of connectedness to your inner purpose as well as the larger community.

Even knowing the many perks that come along with an established practice, it can be tough to stay inspired and committed to stepping on your mat regularly. So, we have designed some ways to support you.

All participants receive:
  • Unlimited yoga from Jul 22-29.
  • 7-Day stamp card to record your seven classes.
  • Entry into raffle for 3 great prizes!
  • 20% off coupon for The Store (valid Jul 22-29).

  • Any and all All That Matters’ classes count toward your 7-Day aspiration. We suggest that you round out your practice with meditation, pranayama and restorative classes.
° We understand completing all 7 days may not work for you.  We believe in progress not perfection.  Do your best and remember a 10min meditation or yoga practice at home counts too.
  • At the end of the challenge, submit your 7-Day challenge stamp card to be entered it into our raffle. Stamp cards with 7 completed classes will receive an additional All That Matters item.
° Prizes include 3-month membership ($267 value), Self-Care Package ($175 value) and Yoga Practice Package ($125 value)

Monthly Gong Bath with Stephanie Marisca Next held on Fri, Aug 28, 2015 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Aug 28, 2015 - Fri Aug 28, 2015

Join Stephanie Marisca, Cathy Cesario and visiting artists for this deep sound relaxation. Experience the vibrational healing of the bronze gong and Tibetan singing bowls.

You will lie down or sit comfortably and begin with mindful relaxed breathing holding a personal or group intention. Then, the gong playing begins. At first you hear soft gong sounds and as you listen carefully, you become aware of the many tones within one sound. The sounds become louder and louder, and wash over and around you creating waves of sound that carry you into the past, the future, and even to other worlds. Many people experience something noticeable during a meditative Gong Bath; it can range from feeling their bodies twitch (as the energy meridians are cleared and balanced), seeing amazing splashes of color behind their closed eyes, past life recollections in full detail, a feeling of lifting out of their bodies and watching from above, to simply a feeling of total peace and connectedness. Whatever your experience, it will be the perfect experience unique to you.

Join us for this monthly sound meditation circle, and leave feeling rested, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Some participants like to bring an extra yoga mat, blanket, or padding to supplement ATM mats and blankets.

What participants have said about this workshop:

"The real journey to happiness is the journey inward. Yoga sheds a light by proposing that all the desires and versions that fuel stress are actually substitutes for the real journey to happiness which is the journey inward. From this perspective, all our attempts to find fulfillment out in the world are at best partial because we are looking in the wrong place." -Joseph LePage, Creator of Integrative Yoga Therapy

"40 Days of Yoga came at a perfect time in my life- when I was ready to change old patterns and embark on healthy ones. I had no idea how life changing the whole program would be. The information provided along with your awesome yoga teachers and support staff changed my life. I thought I was going to exercise more and eat better-now I know how to LIVE better."- CD

This enrollment runs from Fri Sep 25, 2015 - Fri Sep 25, 2015

Starts Sep 2015!

Reflexology is a vibrant and growing healing modality within the field of bodywork. A centuries-old form of natural healing, foot reflexology utilizes a variety of hands-on techniques to stimulate and energize all the body systems while activating its healing powers. Every part of the body is connected to a reflex on the foot. By stimulating these reflex points we can help the body promote healing, reduce stress, open meridians, and release and eliminate toxins from the body. An excellent antidote to stress-related conditions, reflexology relaxes the body, restores balance, and serves as preventative medicine.

This 300-hour professional certification in the art, history, science, philosophy, and methodology of reflexology is based on a 10-week training, with anatomy and physiology in the morning session and hands-on training in the afternoon session.

The curriculum includes:
• fundamental anatomy and physiology
• theory, practice, hands-on experience, and documentation
• standards and ethics
• boundaries and energy exchange
• approaches to different types of clients, e.g., Hospice vs back-pain client
• anatomy/kinesiology of the leg and foot
• practice giving both full 60-minute treatments and 15-min introductory session for health fairs, public events, and sampling
• business and marketing

Reiki Second Degree with Myra Partyka More About This Course

Monthly Gong Bath with Stephanie Marisca Next held on Fri, Oct 23, 2015 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Oct 23, 2015 - Fri Oct 23, 2015

All That Matters' 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Devarshi Steven Hartman of the Pranotthan Yoga School and Kendall Sheldon of All That Matters with Devarshi Steven Hartman Next held on Wed, Nov 4, 2015 at 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
This enrollment runs from Wed Nov 4, 2015 - Wed Nov 4, 2015

Starts Nov 2015!
Step into living your fullest potential and inspire others to do the same.

Has yoga made a difference in your life? Would you like to share the gifts you have received from your practice with others? Or are you drawn to simply go deeper into cultivating presence and awareness in all that you do?

All That Matters is proud to offer this comprehensive, inspired, and transformational yoga teacher training with senior teacher Devarshi Steven Hartman, E-RYT, who has been leading transformational yoga programs for over 30 years, along with stellar guest teachers including Grace Jull and our own Kendall Sheldon. A passage of self-awakening in the fundamentals of yoga, this program is designed to deepen and clarify your experience and knowledge of yoga while you train to become a confident, skillful, and compassionate teacher.

Pranotthan (pronounced prana-tan) means the awakening of prana and its intuitive intelligence. Compatible with all other styles and traditions of yoga, Pranotthan Yoga is rooted in the ancient Vedantic philosophy and practices of yoga, and the teachings of Swami Kripalu, whose life exemplified the path of love and compassion. Immerse yourself fully in the yogic tools of asana, pranayama, meditation, non-judgmental witness consciousness, and communion with source – and yoga will awaken within you, just as the scriptures describe. You will long to share your own experience of yoga practice with others through your new and ever-evolving teaching skills and methods.

In this training you learn how to bring awareness to movement and breath (yoga) in a way that is right for your body, your limitations, your strengths, your age, – in other words, you discover the yoga that is right for you. Yoga is for everybody, not just the young and flexible. There are students waiting for you to teach what enlivens you. Learn how to bring the experience, depth, and benefits of yoga to your students in an inspiring, creative, safe format.

Our 200-hour curriculum includes:

• Learn the foundation of musculo-skeletal principles of alignment
• Learn techniques to create dynamic core power and stabilization, promoting health and longevity of the spine

An Evening of Past Lives and Soul Purpose Readings with Alexandra Hope Flood Next held on Fri, Jan 8, 2016 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Jan 8, 2016 - Fri Jan 8, 2016

Remembering your past lives is not only fascinating, but very healing and illuminating in charting your soul’s amazing evolution. Memories of your soul’s journey serve to inform you of your greater purpose: who you are meant to be in this lifetime and how you can best live your current life to the fullest.

Spend an evening with Alix and have some of your questions about reincarnation and past lives answered. In addition, learn how to remember your own past lives through a time-tested exercise.

Following a brief discussion, chosen participants will experience a mini-reading.
Please note: Alix will give readings to as many participants as time allows.

To receive a private reading, sign up for a session with Alix by calling our Front Desk at 401-782-2126.
Alix can tap into your unique Individual Divine Guidance and then help you apply it to your real-world life, offering rare insight into your life and true soul purpose.

This enrollment runs from Sat Jan 16, 2016 - Sun Jan 17, 2016

Reiki ("ray-key") is an ancient system of natural healing. In Japanese, Reiki means Universal Life Energy, and this system is used to transmit energy through the hands. Gentle and non-invasive, Reiki is a simple, natural means to relieve stress and promote balance, harmony and wellness. We have been offering Reiki trainings and private Reiki sessions here at All That Matters since 1995. These workshops are an invaluable foundation for self-transformation, healing, and for anyone developing a healing practice. First Degree introduces you to hands-on-healing, the history of Reiki, and the energy centers of the body. Learn how to give a Reiki treatment to yourself, others, and your animal friends.

For more information on Reiki, consider coming to one of our free talks, What is Reiki?
