This enrollment runs from Fri May 29, 2015 - Fri May 29, 2015

Overcoming Emotional & Habitual Eating with Mindfulness, Self-Compassion & EFT with Barbara Holtzman Next held on Wed, Jun 3, 2015 at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Wed Jun 3, 2015 - Wed Jun 3, 2015

Join Barbara Holtzman - psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, lifestyle coach, and author of Conscious Eating, Conscious Living - and discover a new method for overcoming compulsive eating and losing weight that combines self-compassion, mindfulness and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

When you criticize yourself for overeating or gaining weight, you can actually trigger an emotional eating episode, especially if this is your primary tool for coping with upsetting emotions. In contrast, mindfulness, self-compassion and EFT help you shift from your habitual reactions to stressors and attain your goals.

In this workshop, learn Barbara’s Making Peace with Food & Your Body” paradigm - which she used to overcome her own binge eating - as well as specific practices to help you manage food cravings and change emotional and habitual eating patterns. While the focus will be on emotional eating, this approach can be used for any habit you wish to change.

For more information email Barbara at barbara@barbaraholtzman.net or call 401-789-0777.

What participants have said about this workshop:

Barbara is "wonderful....a skilled presenter .... She handles questions well."

"I felt comfortable in this group, was able to be honest with myself and others."

This workshop is "Fantastic....informative....enlightening. Gives you things to think about further."

This enrollment runs from Mon Jun 15, 2015 - Mon Jun 15, 2015

QOYA is based on the idea that through movement, you remember. You remember your essence is wise, wild, and free. Wise, wild, and free also draw reference to the movement forms that are practiced: wise – the wisdom of yoga; wild – the creative expression in dance; free – expanding your capacity to enjoy being in your bodies. Join Rochelle for this 1-hour movement class that combines yoga, dance, and feminine movement. End with a 30-minute despacho gratitude ceremony - an Andean ceremony honoring the spirit in all nature - to explore the healing and empowering practices of gratitude in your lives.

Whether you have a daily practice of yoga, mindfulness, and/or saying thank you, or are facing a particular life challenge, Qoya can help you go deeper within to feel your truth and be inspired, experiencing the movements of the practice as medicine. There are many ways to survive this world and get through the day, but only one way to truly live – being attuned to your soul. The movement of Qoya and the practice of gratitude is a powerful portal back to your soul.

Feel the physical sensation of gratitude in your body and dance with it. There is never a bad time to say thank you.

Monthly Gong Bath with Stephanie Marisca Next held on Fri, Aug 28, 2015 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Aug 28, 2015 - Fri Aug 28, 2015

Join us for this deep sound relaxation. Experience the vibrational healing of the bronze gong and Tibetan singing bowls.

You will lie down or sit comfortably and begin with mindful relaxed breathing holding a personal or group intention. Then, the gong playing begins. At first you hear soft gong sounds and as you listen carefully, you become aware of the many tones within one sound. The sounds become louder and louder, and wash over and around you creating waves of sound that carry you into the past, the future, and even to other worlds. Many people experience something noticeable during a meditative Gong Bath; it can range from feeling their bodies twitch (as the energy meridians are cleared and balanced), seeing amazing splashes of color behind their closed eyes, past life recollections in full detail, a feeling of lifting out of their bodies and watching from above, to simply a feeling of total peace and connectedness. Whatever your experience, it will be the perfect experience unique to you.

Join Stephanie Marisca, Cathy Cesario and visiting artists - for this monthly sound meditation circle, and leave feeling rested, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Some participants like to bring an extra yoga mat, blanket, or padding to supplement ATM mats and blankets.

Integrative Reflexology Certification Program with Elysia Bates Next held on Fri, Sep 25, 2015 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
This enrollment runs from Fri Sep 25, 2015 - Fri Sep 25, 2015

Starts Sep 2015!

Reflexology is a vibrant and growing healing modality within the field of bodywork. A centuries-old form of natural healing, foot reflexology utilizes a variety of hands-on techniques to stimulate and energize all the body systems while activating its healing powers. Every part of the body is connected to a reflex on the foot. By stimulating these reflex points we can help the body promote healing, reduce stress, open meridians, and release and eliminate toxins from the body. An excellent antidote to stress-related conditions, reflexology relaxes the body, restores balance, and serves as preventative medicine.

This 300-hour professional certification in the art, history, science, philosophy, and methodology of reflexology is based on a 10-week training, with anatomy and physiology in the morning session and hands-on training in the afternoon session.

The curriculum includes:
• fundamental anatomy and physiology
• theory, practice, hands-on experience, and documentation
• standards and ethics
• boundaries and energy exchange
• approaches to different types of clients, e.g., Hospice vs back-pain client
• anatomy/kinesiology of the leg and foot
• practice giving both full 60-minute treatments and 15-min introductory session for health fairs, public events, and sampling
• business and marketing
